's-Hertogenbosch is centrally located in the Netherlands. Travelling options are numerous: by train, car, bike, or plane. This guide provides essential travel information, including transport options and parking details.

getting to 's-Hertogenbosch by train

Den Bosch is well-connected to the Dutch railway network (NS), making train travel one of the easiest ways to reach the city. Direct intercity trains from Amsterdam, Utrecht, and Eindhoven run frequently, with a journey time of around one hour from Amsterdam. The main station is centrally located, allowing easy access to the city's attractions. A second station is also located east of the city centre ('s-Hertogenbosch Oost).

arriving by car: routes & parking options

If you're driving to Den Bosch, the city is easily accessible via the A2 and A59 highways. Once there, parking can be found at several locations, including three P+R Transferiums which offers affordable parking and a shuttle bus to the city center:

  • P+R Transferium Deutersestraat (west of the city centre),
  • P+R Transferium Petterlaarpark (east of the city centre),
  • P+R Transferium Petterlaarpark (north-east of the city centre).

As a bike-friendly city, Den Bosch offers excellent cycling infrastructure. If you're arriving by bicycle, you can park at one of the free guarded bike parkings:

  • at the station
  • in the Wolvenhoek garage
  • or in the Kerkstraat.

There are also many bike routes around Den Bosch to discover its history and nature. There are several options to rent a bike for the day if you wish. 

flying to 's-Hertogenbosch: nearest airports

Travelers can fly into Eindhoven Airport (30 km away) or Amsterdam Schiphol Airport (90 km away). From Eindhoven, you can take a bus to Eindhoven Centraal station and from there a direct train to Den Bosch, while Schiphol offers a direct intercity train to Den Bosch in just under an hour.
